Brief Discussion on the Technological Process of Fluorocarbon Spraying

With the development of China's construction industry in recent years, the rise of curtain wall industry in China, and the demand for aluminum profiles in a variety of colors, after recognizing that aluminum composite panels are not easy to be used for high-rise construction, the demand for fluorocarbon coatings on the surface of single-layer aluminum panels and aluminum profiles in China has doubled since the 1990s. Fluorocarbon spraying profile is a relatively new commodity in China, which is usually used for advanced construction. Because of its excellent characteristics, it is paid attention and favored by the construction industry. It has excellent resistance to fading, atmospheric pollution and acid rain corrosion, and can accept the impact of various adverse weather, which is beyond the reach of ordinary coatings.

As advanced construction profiles, fluorocarbon spraying profiles have very strict quality requirements in the whole technical process. The previous disposal process, spraying process and curing process all require strict technical control to ensure the coating quality of aluminum profiles. The inspection specification of domestic culvert fluorocarbon spraying construction industry is GB5237.5-2008 as the primary basis, and this series of specifications is recognized as the primary national standard specification for inspection of coating quality.

The function of fluorocarbon coating itself determines that it is necessary for the spraying equipment to ensure excellent atomization effect and uniformity of the spraying layer. The dispersion of metal particles in fluorocarbon coating will directly affect the appearance of the coating. The fluorocarbon coating with uniform coating and excellent quality has metallic luster, obvious color and obvious stereoscopic feeling. The fluorocarbon coating with inappropriate spraying equipment will have uneven color, shadow on the surface or unstable coating, which will greatly affect the decoration effect and application function of fluorocarbon.

Fluorocarbon spraying technology uses multi-level spraying to give full play to the advantages of durability and weather resistance of metal paint. The technical process of pre-treatment is as follows: degreasing - alkaline washing (degreasing) - water washing - chromizing - water washing - pure water washing, and then the spraying process is primer spraying - primer leveling - topcoat spraying - topcoat leveling - finishing coat baking (curing).

1. The purpose of pre-treatment is to degrease, decontaminate and chemically treat the surface of the workpiece before spraying the aluminum alloy profile, so as to produce a chromized film, add the adhesion between the coating and the metal surface and anti oxidation ability, which is conducive to extending the service life of the paint film.

2. As the paint coating for closing the substrate, the effect of the primer coating is to improve the anti penetration ability of the coating, enhance the maintenance of the substrate, stabilize the metal surface layer, strengthen the adhesion of the surface of the finish paint, and ensure the color uniformity of the finish paint coating. The thickness of the paint layer is usually 5~10 microns.

3. The finishing coat is the most critical layer of fluorocarbon spray coating, which is to supply the decoration color required by aluminum profile and make the appearance of aluminum meet the design requirements. The metal surface shall be protected from the corrosion of external atmosphere, acid rain and pollution, prevent ultraviolet ray penetration, and greatly enhance the anti-aging ability. The finishing coat is the thickest layer of paint. The paint thickness is usually 23~30 microns.

4. The gloss finish coating, also known as varnish coating, is primarily intended to more effectively enhance the ability of the paint layer to resist external corrosion, maintain the finish coating, enhance the metallic luster of the finish color, make the appearance more colorful and dazzling, and the coating thickness is usually 5-10 microns.

5. The curing furnace temperature is usually 180 ℃~250 ℃, and the curing time is 15-25 minutes. Different fluorocarbon coating manufacturers will supply the best temperature and time according to their own coating.
